Despite a national allocation of over $9billion by the Federal and state governments in 2009, Australian aged care services are under intense pressure to support increasing numbers of older people. In the lead up to the next Federal election, a new campaign has been set up by a coalition of peak bodies and faith based national service providers of residential and community based aged care.
The Grand Plan sets out a new vision for the care of older Australians, in a policy which would enable people to choose how and where they want to live, be well supported by affordable care, delivered as it is needed. A survey shows the majority of Australians consider aged care policies to be more important than immigration policies, and the coalition needs your support to put this on the national agenda during the forthcoming election campaign and beyond.
You can participate in the campaign by sending emails to your local MP and to Federal Ministers - read the plan and help support the campaign at the website: http://www.thegrandplan.com.au/
